Fire , Mid, or Trash ?: Monday Night RAW 4/10/23 Match Review
Rey Mysterio vs Finn Balor
Quick Hit: Dominick hit Rey with steel chain leading to Finn finishing Rey with the Coup de Grace.
Result: Finn Balor win via pinfall
Verdict: FIRE
Editor’s Note: A GOOD LONG wrestling match…..Something feels a little different this Monday. This angle may, or may not be getting stale. The upcoming draft will tell a lot about where this angle goes next.
Quick Hit: Liv Morgan hit Becky with the ObLIVion but got rolled into a Man-handle slam by Becky. Becky was pulled out of the ring by Raquel Rodriguez. Becky climbed back in the ring and tagged Trish but Trish misses a Chick Kick and gets rolled up and pinned by Liv for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Becky tried to console a disappointed Trish and eats a Chick Kick for her troubles.
Result: Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan wins via pinfall
Verdict: Mid
Editor’s Note: Another LONG match, and this time it involved…….*gasp*……WOMEN?! According to some fans and the dirt sheets, I thought women were extinct after Vince was in gorilla last Monday. This match wasn’t crisp, as is usually the case when Liv is involved. This women’s tag division is a train wreck. It is in desperate need of its version of the Usos, Street Profits, or New Day. Right now, its just a collection of women’s wrestlers who have nothing else to do besides being in a tag team with one another.
Quick Hit: The two men brawled outside the ring to the tune of a double count out.
Result: Draw – Double count out
Verdict: Mid
Editor’s Note: First of all, please do away with the lame ass gladiator entrance for Lashley. I’ll never understand why they decided to move away from the awesome entrance Bobby had while he was with the Hurt Business. This match was really enjoyable. This was a huge spot for Bronson Reed as he rubbed elbows with one of the best in the business. Its another sign the Vince might not be in charged. Would Vince sign-off on a guy he fired previously getting in so much offense against Bobby Lashley? I’m not so sure.
Quick Hit: Double super kick, 1-D, 1,2,3. Down goes Gable.
Result: Usos wins vía pinfall
Verdict: Mid
Editor’s Note: This match was fun. Otis is a fucking star. This match doesn’t mean anything long term, but like most of the matches tonight, this match was solid and given time.
Quick Hit: Michin hit Piper Niven with the Eat De-Feet, but Iyo Sky took advantage to hit a moonsault for the win to become the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Title.
Result: Iyo Sky wins via pinfall
Verdict: FIRE
Editor’s Note: THE WOMEN WERE FEATURED VERY WELL TONIGHT (As they should every night). Another one of H’s kids getting a meaningful win on the main roster.
Quick Hit: Kevin Owens knee bothered him for the entire match. KO hit a pop up powerbomb but his knee gave out. Jey Uso hit a super kick behind the refs back leading to a Samoan Spike from Solo. After the match, the Bloodline beat down KO but he was save by a late-arriving Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle.
